Holotype: TUE* 10096 (*Abbreviation for Tokyo University of Education, Tokyo, Japan)
Remarks: Original description is as follows: "Shell medium in size of the genus, compressed, broadly rounded, thin; valves nearly equilateral excepting auricles. Right valve with almost smooth external surface excepting both sides of anterior and posterior margins in young specimen, but with fine radial lines or riblets in the adult stage; auricles somewhat large, unequal size; right anterior one long, ornamented with fine radial riblets and fine concentric lines; byssal notch rather deep, distinct; ctenolium slightly distinct still in adult stage; pectidal teeth distinct in young; no internal ribs; hinge margin with several oblique spines or tubercles inclined to outwards when young. Length, about 23 mm; height, about 23 mm; length of hinge-line 14.0 mm in more or less deformed right valve". Unfortunately the type specimens are missing. Type locality: Peichiangchi (81304), Kuohsing, Nantou Hsien (Mushan Formation). Geologic distribution: Mushan Formation in Nantou Hsien, Taiwan. Geologic range: Late Oligocene.» MASUDA, K. & C.
