Descripttion:— Of small-medium size, height equal to or slightly exceeding length, ventral margin strongly convex; inflation weak, left valve probably slightly more convex than right. Antero-dorsal and postero-dorsal rnargins straight to slightly concave, their angle of divergence increasing from about 95° to about 100°. Ears rather large, posterior ones with the outer angle about 80°, left anterior ear more acute-angled in general shape, but with the outer margin strongly sigmoidal; right anterior ear rather narrow, with sub-parallel upper and lower margins and a deep, broad byssal notch; ctenolium short, with about 7 teeth; sinus fasciole rather broad, very little impressed. Right posterior and both left ears with 4-7 well-divergent, squamose threads, right anterior with 6 rounded, squamose riblets and narrow interspaces. 20-21 prominent ribs with slightly flattened and broadened crests; intervals slightly narrower than the ribs on the right valve and slightly wider on the left. The whole surface, when uneroded, is covered with fine growth-threads, but secondary radial ornament is absent. Dimensions:— Holotype: H = 28.2 mm. L = 26.5 mm. Paratype: H = 24.7 mm. L = 24.7 mm.» FRANK EVELYN EAMES & LESLIE REGINALD COX, 1956
