«Description: Shell medium in size, thick, suborbicular, nearly equilateral; right valve a little more convex than left valve; valves radiately ribbed and forming an angle of about 110º at apex. Right valve moderately inflated with about 21 prominent, rounded and smooth radial ribs and distinct, fine concentric growth lines; radial ribs nearly equal to their interpaces and tend to become distinct near ventral margin; interspaces between radial ribs with regularly spaced, more or less lamellated incremental lines; auricles medium in size, subequal to each other, with fine radial threads and concentric lines. Left valve moderately inflated with similar sculpture to right valve. Interior surface with rather distinct characteristic serration at ventral margin.
Dimensions (in mm; *: holotype):
Remarks: Several well preserved specimens. The present new species can be distinguished form Annachlamys reevei (Adams and Reeve, 1850), a Recent species of southern Japanese Islands by its more number of prominent radial ribs which are nearly equal to their interspeces in breadth.
Holotype: NMNS 003284, KS 660, Kuanyinshan Sandstone at Wuchi section. Paratypes: NMNS 003283, KS 660, Kuanyinshan Sandstone at Wuchi section. Type locality: Kuanyinshan Sandstone Wuchi section, central Taiwan. Occurrence: Middle Miocene Kuanyinshan Sandstone (Wuchi section) KS 660, KS 654, and (Peikangchi section) KS 167A.» KÔICHIRÔ MASUDA & CHI-YUE HUANG, 1990
