«The shell is small or medium size, subovate, height and length about equal, moderately convex. Left valve has 17 or 18, low, rounded ribs between narrower interspaces, both ribs and interspaces bearing coarse, longitudinal cords of uniform size, there being four or five cords on the ribs and two or three in the adjacent interspaces, the cords rendered scabrous or finely nodous by the crossins of evenly spaced concentrics; details as shown in the enlarged figure. Anterior ear of the left valve a trifle larger than the posterior one. Right valve unknown.
Length 28.3 mm., height 29 mm., diameter 7.4 mm. Left valve, Holotype, USNM 644090. Length 21.9 mm., height 22.5 mm. (incomplete), diameter 6.5 mm. Paratype, USNM 644091. Four, more or less weathered or encrusted left valves, the right not seen. The species bears some resemblance to C. buchivaconana F. and H. Hodson from Venezuela¹ and perhaps also to C. corteziana Durham² from the Pliocene of Lower California, judging by the figures. Upper Neogene: Sua.» ¹ Hodson, F. and H. 7927, Bull. Amer.
