LEANZA A. F. 1943. Pectinula, nuevo género de pelecípodos en el lías de Neuquén. Notas del Museo de La Plata. Paleontología, 8 (53): 241-249, pl. 1.
«The Jurassic genera Pectinula Leanza, 1943, Posidonotis Losacco, 1942, and Amuropecten Sey, 1984 are possibly also entolioidids, although little is known about their shell microstructure (Damborenea, 1987; Aberhan & Pálfy, 1996; Aberhan, 1998; but see Hayami, 1988). On the basis of these genera, the total stratigraphic range of the Entolioididae is from Lower Triassic (Upper Scythian; Allasinaz, 1972) to Lower Jurassic (Toarcian; Westermann, 1992; Aberhan & Pálfy, 1996).»

«Remarks: The genus Pectinula, originally thought to be represented by a unique species, P. cancellata, from the late Pliensbachian -early Toarcian, was described by A. LEANZA in 1943. He broadly discussed its relations to Diotis, Posidonia, Halobia and other genera and preferred to include it into the Pectinidae.
One year before, LOSACCO (1942) had described a new genus that he referred to the Aviculidae, which he called Posidonotis, with only one species from the late early Jurassic of Sabina, Italy. These two generic names are here considered as synonyms. The poor preservation of the specimens prevented up to now the provision of a detailed description of both species, especially the Italian one, which shows only one auricle preserved, the posterior one according to LOSACCO. This auricle is identical to the posterior auricle of P. cancellata, although in this species the anterior auricle is also preserved in a few specimens. This difference, which is probably due to incomplete preservation in P. dainellii, is the only important one, and thus both are thought to be congeneric. The generic name that must be used according to the rules of priority is Posidonotis LOSACCO 1942.» DAMBORENEA, S. E. 1987.
