PECTEN GEMMULATUS. Pect. testâ trigono-ovata, paululum altiore quam longâ, tenui, aequilaterali, subaequivalvi, valvis liris subtilibus gemmulatis undique pulcherrimè radiatis; pellucido-carneâ, ustulato-spadiceo tinctâ, lineis albis brevibus ad latera sparsim promiscuè notatâ, valvâ dextrâ pallidiore; auriculis valdè inaequalibus.
THE FINELY-BEADED PECTEN. Shell triangularly ovate, a little higher than long, thin, equilateral, equivalve, valves very beautifully rayed throughout with fine beaded ridges; transparent flesh tinged with burnt fawn-colour, sparingly promisenously marked at the sides with short white lines; ears very unequal.
