PECTEN CROTILUS. Pect. testa ovata, altiore quam longa, aequivalvi, subaequilaterali, valvis leviter convexis, liris irregularibus angustis dense minute squamatis profuse sculptis; intense purpurascente-rubra, sparsim nigro-punctata; auriculis valde inaequalibus, anticis multo majoribus.
THE SLENDER PECTEN. Shell ovate, higher than long, equivalve, nearly equilateral, valves slightly convex, profusely sculptured with densely minutely scaled narrow irregular ridges; deep purplish-red, sparingly black-dotted; ears very unequal, the anterior much the larger.
