L. Carolinensis. Shell rounded, lower valve slightly convex or nearly flat, ribs 11 or 12, convex on the back, angular on the sides, subnodose; disk undulated concentrically; interstices of the ribs with minute radiating lines crossed by minute squamose lines, ears large, sinus rather deep with a rounded margin; height 3 inches; length 3 3-8 inches.»
